Effective today, AQR Capital Management is renaming 14 of its mutual funds. We are adding the word “style” to these funds to highlight that each employs styles, or factors, as the foundation of its investment approach.
AQR is a pioneer in style-based investing. Styles are quantitative characteristics of stocks, such as value, momentum and profitability, among others. Each of these styles has been extensively researched by academics and practitioners, and has risk-return characteristics that may be attractive to investors.
There will be no changes to the investment strategies themselves, nor to the investment universes or portfolio managers for any fund. Tickers for each fund also will be unchanged.
