Ashwin Thapar is a Principal on the Macro Strategies team at AQR Capital Management. In his role, he is a senior researcher and portfolio manager for our Multi-Strategy, Macro, Commodities and Managed Futures portfolios. Ashwin’s research on currency hedging, tail risk hedging, deep value and risk premia investing has been published in the Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Investment Management, Journal of Portfolio Management and Journal of Systematic Investing. He was recognized with a Bernstein Fabozzi/Jacobs Levy Award for Outstanding Article in 2022 and received a Special Distinction in the Harry M. Markowitz Awards in 2021. Ashwin earned a B.Sc. in finance and a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude in both fields.
